Saddened to hear the news of Cousin Joe’s passing. My fond memories are of the family gatherings he would have at his lovely home in MD.
May the Angels usher you through the pearly gates to paradise for eternal peace.
Love cousin Brenda

Jennie Sanders and Family,
We are deeply sadden for the loss of your beloved Joe. It was a little over 14 years ago that Joe came to Lumpkin, Georgia to support the Ponder Family during our time of bereavement at the loss of our father. He was a man whose presence would not allow a person to forget him. After meeting Joe one time, we considered him family and felt very comfortable calling him for advice when renovating our home in St. Charles, Missouri. We are sorry that we are unable to attend the services but please know that you all are in our prayers. We pray that God encamp his Angels of Mercy around you and keep you strong during this difficult time. We will honor Joe by making a donation from the Ponder Family to the Joe A. Sanders Masonry Vocational Tech Education Fund.
God's Blessings to you all
Jacqueline Ponder Jenkins (St. Charles, MO) / Ponder Family of Lumpkin, Georgia

Jennie,
Please accept our sincere condolences for the loss of your loving husband. We are happy that we got to meet Joe on several occasions. One of our fondest memories was being welcomed into your home for the "crab fest". What a wonderful time we had with you both and your amazing family and friends. Continue to keep the precious memories in your heart. They will sustain you in these difficult times. You and your family are in our prayers.
With sincere regards,

To the family of Joe Sanders I express my condolences.
I have been knowing Joe for a long time. I first met him when he came to Capital Brick to purchase material for a masonry job. He was always pleasant, friendly and kind. Prior to the pandemic I would see Joe sometime but he called the office often looking for masonry products. Rest in paradise my brother. Take your rest, we all love you but God loved you best.

It is with great sadness to hear of the departure of my friend and homeboy Joe Sanders. However when I think of the way he lived his life it takes away some of the hurt and safnes. He touched so many people in such a positive way that God must have decided that his work was considered here on earth and decided to bring him home at the time.

Our Dearest Jennie, Gregory, Gerald & Sanders Family,
The Lomax Family is devastated by the loss of our beloved Joe Sanders. There aren't enough words to adequately convey our heartfelt condolences to the Sanders Family.
Our families have 54 years of blessed shared treasured memories which will keep Joe's legacy and his love alive in our hearts. He displayed genuine caring for family/friends with hosting the legendary Crab Feasts, Cookouts etc. and being present for all the special events in our lives with loving support. Our kids simply adored their Uncle Joe!! He was a role model of many attributes - Christian living, possessing a great work ethic, teaching, always successfully meeting challenges, entrepreneurship, that never give up mentality and much more.
We pray that with the love of God will continually embrace you with His peace and comfort that surpasses all understanding, the cascade of great infinite loving memories and knowing that so very many people care will sustain the Sanders family today and all the days ahead. Joe Sanders will be forever loved and missed.
Loving Remembrance,
The Carson & Janice Lomax Family

In times like these it is hard to find words to console the family, but with the family of Mr. Joe Sanders, I find it quite comfortable to speak to them and let them know what a Giant of a Man they had in their midst. Culey Joe, as I affectionally called him was truly One-of-a-kind. Let's take a look at the descriptive words that I attribute to him. They are: A work-a-holic, a true professional, a family man, a kind gentleman, a builder, an entertainer, a traveler, a man of God, a comic, a friend, a father, a husband, an uncle, a cousin, a brother, a nephew, a negotiator and on and on and on. To me, he was a cousin-in-law. We were born on the same day and for years, we celebrated our birthdays together. There was no March 18th that we did not make some type of communication. To the family, rejoice and be thankful that Joe Sanders left for all of us extraordinary memories that we can cherish for the rest of our lives. Marion Sanders who is Joe's Cousin and Mattie P. Sanders who is Joe's Cousin-in-law will miss him greatly, but we are glad he passed our way. Joe, take your rest, you have left us with nothing but pride and a roadmap for success.
