CHUCKY WILSON posted a condolence
Tuesday, November 7, 2023
Brother Brown truly a unique Brother, who was well versed regarding the aspects and history of The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. It should never be forgotten that it was Brother David L. Brown who provided the leadership which was necessary to make the State of Georgia a powerhouse within the Seventh District while he was a member of Eta Omega (Graduate Chapter in Atlanta, Ga). He served as the Georgia State Representative of the 7th District of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. As I reflect back on Brother Brown, it saddens me to know that we have lost a true "Historian" who was exceptionally gifted with the knowledge and history of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
RIP my Brother!
Bro. Chucky Wilson
17th/7th Dist. Rep.
1998-2000

Pledged Omega while student at Rust College, but he served Mother Beta Psi, Clark College as one of her most accomplished sons. Bro Dave and I were both initiated in 1966. We met in the late 60s as the only combat vietnam vets at Clark College. I am yet to met a brother who possess his attributes.
I shall miss him at the 12/3 Gala where we will be celebrating the 100 year rich history of Beta Psi Chapter. Few have contributed more to that history.

David was a friend, fraternity brother, fellow alumnus of Clark College, Christian, and home boy. We grew up in the same community and church. I am older but I admired David for his tenacity, ambition and what he made of himself. I saw David in Athens, Al at our last all Trinity High School Grand Reunion in September 2022. I will miss the phone calls where we talked of our common history of school and community. A dear friend is gone. Pictures are from early church days and CAU reunions. David is the small boy in the black and white photos.

In memory of David Lee Brown, a faithful man we mourn,
Who on that autumn day in 2023, to heavenly grace was borne.
A Christian soul, a loving spouse, and a father kind and true,
He touched the hearts of many, his spirit forever in view.
Omega Psi Phi, a brotherhood he proudly bore,
A man of honor, strength, and wisdom, to his very core.
With fellow members by his side, he walked the noble path,
A legacy of unity, service, and love, that's sure to last.
To Marjorie, his beloved, he was a husband strong and dear,
In every joy and trial, their love was crystal clear.
Through every twist and turn of life, they stood side by side,
In a love that could not wither, nor in memory subside.
As a father to Allen and David, he instilled values with great care,
Teaching them to be compassionate, and always willing to share.
The wisdom he passed on, in every word and deed,
Will guide his son throughout his life, like a trusted creed.
At Calloway United Methodist Church, he served with boundless grace,
A leader who inspired faith and love in every sacred place.
His dedication to the congregation, his unwavering belief,
Left an indelible mark of hope, beyond all human grief.
On October 21, 2023, he left this earthly stage,
But his legacy lives on in the hearts of every age.
David Lee Brown, a good Christian man, in our hearts, he'll forever reside,
A beacon of faith and love, with God's eternal love as his guide.

Brother David Brown loved his church and his church family very much. His presence will be truly missed as will our conversations about all things Methodism- he was extremely knowledgeable on this subject. I will miss him saying to me, "Hello Sister Maria."
Well done good and faithful servant.

Brother David was very keen on getting things right. He’d always come to me before Laity Sunday and run through a plan and his ideas and ask me what songs u would suggest. He’d say, “that’s not my lane, Dr. Mabry.” I’d just smile and agree. I appreciate his wit and his desire to be a team player. He will be missed. My love to Sis. Marjorie and the family.
