My earliest memory of Jr. was when he would visit us during his summers in Penhook, VA. He would walk across the street from Miss Queenie's for a visit. I distinctly remember as a little girl what he was wearing. A burgundy shirt with his school's emblem embossed on it and a pair of khaki shorts. And the brightest smile ever. I always thought it was thoughtful of him to stop by and sit on the porch and catch up on the latest with my Mom, me and my siblings. In my adult life when I moved to the DMV and would see him out and about the city. I'd holler out his name and he would have a look on his face like who is this. We would briefly chat until the next time. And there was always a next time I would see him on the move. Sadly, there will no next time. What I do have are the memories we were able to share.
Love,
