Mrs. Dorothy Moton, the daughter of the late Calvin and Mary Wilbon, departed and went safely into the arms of the angels on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at her Northwest, Washington, DC residence.

Dorothy was born on July 15, 1937, in Washington, D.C. She was the oldest of eight children born to her parent's union. One sister, Shirley, and five brothers, Roscoe, Charles, Harry Sr., Calvin Jr., and Robert Wilbon, preceded her into eternal rest. She leaves her youngest sister Carolyn Wilbon to cherish her memory.

Dorothy was united in holy matrimony to James E. Moton in 1968. This union; created a blended family of nine children. Her eldest daughter, Joanne Wilbon, and stepson James Jr. preceded her in eternal rest. She leaves to cherish her memory a very devoted husband, James Moton; one daughter Crystal Moton; three sons, Vincent Wilbon, Larry Wilbon, and Ronald Wilborn (Bernice); one stepdaughter Deborah Moton; and two stepsons, Leonard Moton, and Vincent Moton. Thirteen grandchildren, Nikia Wilbon, Tyrone Smith, Quiyon Thomas, William Moton, Deanna Taylor (Reggie), Nicole Wilbon, Phylicia Bean, Renisha Wilborn, Lyndella Moton, Tori Bell (Dayton), Andrea Wilborn, Jada Wilborn, Jayden Wilborn. Fifteen great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
