Please know that we are thinking of Sister Conyer's loyal family and lovely friends at this time of sorrow.
Reading Eva's guest book has truly warmed my spirit to know that we shared the same time on the earthly journey.
Rest In Peace

Eva Brown Miller Conyer was awesome, and lived life to its fullest. We met when we were both 8 yrs old. She moved to Arlington, Virginia in Arlington County to a segregated community known as Green Valley. She and I lived on South Pollard St, adjacent to Fort Barnard Recreation Center. Her father, Mr. Robert, brought her to our house and introduced her to us since he and Albright, my dad had a good relationship. Plus, he had two girls, and my father had four. Eva and I had a lot in common at age 8, e.g. studious, competitive, girly & boy-haters. Sometimes we would go to her bedroom which she shared with her older sister, Patsy to play. Eve would put on her sister's shoes, makeup, and she imagined herself dressed-up in Patsy's clothes. We occasionally discussed David Allen and Chester who we pretended we didn't like, but often played with at the recreation center. We played in the woods behind her house, finding many treasures, i.e.g. money or unopened women toiletry packages, etc., or we just sat and converse with the teenage Clark sisters who lived next door to her house, or the teenage Norris sisters whose house was flanked to mine. One day we were in my backyard hanging from what we called the "monkey bar" (which was actually the sidebar on my swingset) practicing forward flips. For some reason, I do not recall why, we had a brief playground quarrel. After I jumped off the monkey bar and landed flat-footed on the grassy ground, I remembered her pushing me for no apparent reason. So, I opened and raised my right palm to slap the right side of her head, but she intercepted my hand with her left arm. Then I, quickly opened and raised my left plam to slap the left side of her "big head", I was thinking, (Though at the same time amazed at her agility and skill) but she blocked my next attempt with her right arm. Honestly, it was a bittersweet moment because I was both stunned and in awe, for I had never before seen a little girl defend herself in that way. Therefore, I believe, enlisting in the U.S. Army was apart of her destiny. All in all, Eva L. Miller Conyer was God-fearing, had a good sense of humor, kind, and just as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. Eva will truly be missed by friends and family, but not forgotten.
I send condolences and blessings to your family.

To the immediate family, I offer my deepest sympathy and prayers for comfort.
This book of remembrance gives us the option to say whether we are a "family" member or a "friend". For a moment, I hesitated, because these two words can be used interchangeably when referring to Ms. "E".
Thankfully, Eva's family and friends never had to solidify their value/worth in her life. With her, things was pretty simple. She was so transparent. Yet, endearingly complex. Eva could readily answer most any question when watching Jeopardy EVERY night. She could effortlessly upstage any man (or woman) with her vast knowledge of sports. And, she expressed such a love for God when talking about the wonders of His creation & blessings.
It's been said that our friends mirror who we are. Seems the company we keep, can tell the world much about us. Amazingly, being in Eva's presence, and as seen thru her eyes, anyone could be deemed beautiful. She dignified, upgraded and enhanced others. As with our lord and savior Jesus (& his followers), she just made you "want to" to be proudly called her son, daughter, sister, aunty, cousin, grandchild and/or friend. - Mark 1:41, Acts 16:15
In this climate of indifference, and aloofness, it was so refreshing to be in the company of someone like Eva -- so giving, genuinely kind, and one who exhibited such unconditional love. How blessed and honored we all are to be part of Eva's legacy and extended "family". Today, we grieve together tho happy that she is at rest. In God's "time" and during the "resurrection," we will rejoice and welcome her healthy and whole once again. - Eccl. 3:1, Act 24:15 & Rev. 21:3a, 4
With Peace and Love,
Sandy JW
