Celebration of Life for Annie Carter
Annie Beale Carter, 70, of Spotsylvania, VA departed this life on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Henrico Doctors Hospital in Richmond, VA.
Annie was born on April 29, 1952, to the late Elder Henry Beale Sr. and the late Annie Mae Beale.
Annie attended Fredericksburg City Public Schools, where she made some lifelong friends.
Following graduation, she worked several jobs before going to work at the Social Security Administration in Falls Church, VA, where she served as a public servant for 40+ years, before retiring in 2018.
Annie confessed her love of the Lord at the Church of God of Prophecy at an early age, where she was a faithful and committed member. Annie received a certificate of biblical studies and graduated alongside her mother. She later joined Kingdom Family Worship Center, where she was affectionately known as “Mother Annie.”
Annie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She had a passion for family, singing Christian music and cooking. She had an amazing soprano voice and used it to minister through song. She also loved to fry fish, eat crabs and watermelon. After a long work week, she would fly down I-95 to meet the fish man so she could fry fish for her family and the community.
Having a passion for serving her community, after retiring, she assisted family and friends with their transportation needs. Many referred to her as their personal “Uber Driver” with a 5-Star rating.
Most of all, she loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents Elder Henry Beale, Sr. and Annie Mae Beale, her sister Shirley Harris, her brothers Joseph Beale, Sr. and Jeremiah Beale and her great grandchild, Kalani.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Joseph L. Carter of Spotsylvania VA, her three loving children, Delannie B. Honesty (Glen), Darnell L. Mitchell both of Spotsylvania , VA and DeNae L. Mitchell of Chester, VA; one brother, Henry Beale, Jr; two sisters, Effie Cabarris, and Ernestine Gray of Fredericksburg, VA; Mother and Father-in-law, James “Sonny” and Mildred Carter of Spotsylvania VA; one sister-in-law, Patricia “Anne”Beale-Mbacke of Indianapolis, IN; three aunts, Katherine Beale, Betty Grant, and Helen Weaver of Fredericksburg, VA; nine grandchildren, Ashleigh, Zackara, Dayanna, Jornee’, Genesis, Jada, Micah (with whom she raised), Danielle, and Xavion, six great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
