Obituary of Micah A Chavis, Sr.

On Saturday July 23,2022 Micah Aaron Chavis, Sr.  peacefully slipped into eternity. Micah was born on December 17,1944 to the  late Rev. Dr. Duncan Clifton Chavis and Mary Lee Harrell Chavis He was one of seven siblings.

Micah was born and raised in Richmond Virginia where he attended Richmond public schools Micah grew up in a church alongside his siblings and was baptized at a young age.

Micah Join the United States Airforce where he worked as an aircraft mechanic. While in the military, he met and married the late Margo Chavis, out of the reunion they had two children, Micah Aaron Chavis Jr. (proceed) in death and Michelle A. Chavis.   

In his civilian life, he worked at the Bethlehem Steel Company in Baltimore Md,for over 26 years where he retired.  While he was working work a second job at Avis/Budget Group for 23 years where he also retired.  During his employment with Avis/Budget Group he met Joan Williams a lasting loving relationship where they join together Holy Matrimony. Micah resided in Baltimore Md for over 20 yrs and faithfully was a decanted Baltimore Ravens for one thing i could say he didn’t miss a game. Micah enjoyed spending time with his family at gathering especially cook outs his children and grandkids he also like to go camping, fishing with his brothers Micah also love to travel.

Micah was a unique individual he was very neat and preferred his clothes folded a certain way. He loved to sit on his porch drinking his cup of coffee with his legs crossed.  

Micah leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife Joan Chavis his daughter Michelle Chavis, (Sonny) stepdaughter Bianca Williams; three grandchildren, Raquan Chavis, Lyric Artis, and Sonni Weaver; two brothers, Stephen Chavis, Rev. R. Alexander Chavis, Sr, and one (preceded) in death  one sister, Faith Chavis; two (preceded) in death six sisters-in-laws four brothers -in- laws and a host Nieces & Nephews close friends & family.
