Obituary of Chad Edward Anthony Richards
April 25, 1990 – March 24, 2022
Today, we celebrate the life of Chad Edward Anthony Richards, known to some who have watched him grow over the years as “Chaddie,” or “Master Chad.”
Chad entered this world on April 25, 1990, and, as an infant, was dedicated to the Lord for His service at Hillandale Baptist Church, Adelphi, Maryland, on August 5, 1990. As he grew, he became interested in broadening his understanding of who God is and spent his early years in Bible studies, Vacation Bible School, religious camping experiences and activities that built his relationship with God and the Hillandale Baptist community. Chad grew with such wisdom and discernment, that he was labeled, “a child with an old spirit.”
At the tender age of nine, Chad was called by God. He answered the call through his commitment to the Lord and entered a covenant relationship by inviting Jesus into his heart and accepting Him as Lord and Savior. He publicly declared his relationship with the Lord through his baptism on April 23, 2000.
At age 15, Chad transferred to New Song Bible Fellowship Church and continued his walk with God. He was surrounded by a cadre of men who journeyed with him and encouraged his religious growth and development. He continued to enrich his knowledge of God through biblical teachings and studies and through his participation in youth mission trips sponsored by New Song in collaboration with World Changers. Chad delighted in expressing his love for others and shared his excitement about helping communities and families who needed assistance with housing rehabilitation. Hearing the stories of others on the mission trips, made him more profoundly grateful. These experiences increased Chad’s maturity and responsibility and gave him a deeper sense of purpose.
One of Chad’s proudest moments in life was being a father to his beautiful son, Malachi, who has been the “apple of his eye.” Chad’s pathway in life took many twists and turns and ended when his Sovereign Lord, the Author and Finisher of his faith, called him home after a tragic accident that occurred on his way to the US Postal Service, Aspen Hill, where he worked for the last several years. We will miss the love we shared with Chad, a loving son, grandson, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to so very many who knew him. May his soul rest in peace and may he continue to live on through the lives of the recipients of his organ donation.
Services will be live streamed on Facebook, the church website, or Zoom.
