Obituary of LaDora Antoinette Cobb

LaDora, Antoinette Cobb was a faithlul follower of Chist.
a loyal friend and a deep well of joy to all who knew her. LaDora was born
on January 8, 1947, to the late Arthur L. Cobb, Sr. and Blondelia Moore Cobb.
She was the oldest of two children.
LaDora accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior as a young child in Bethesda
Baptist Church, where she was a member for many years under the
leadership of the late Rev. John D. Bussey. She later joined Shiloh Baptist
Church and served actively as a Circle Leader and a member of the Shiloh
Senior Choir until the time of her illness. LaDora especially loved music and
looked forward to participating in the choir's annual production of Handel's
Messiah every Christmas.

LaDora received her education from the Washington, DC Public School System. In 1965, she graduated from
Eastern High School and went on to attend Bradley University and later Chicago State University, where she
received her Bachelor's degree in Education and was a member of the Theta o Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi.
Always a trailblazer, LaDora was a proud co-founder of the lvettes, which preceded the charter of the first
historically black sorority on the university's campus.

LaDora's successful career with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services spanned 23 years. She was
a senior specialist of program and fiscal responsibilities in the Office of Human Development Services and
the Administration for Children and Families (Region V), working with the Head Start, Runaway Youth and
Homeless Shelters programs. She also worked in the Washington, DC Central Office supporting the Native
American and Alaska Native Branch Head Start Program Division. Her efforts made an immeasurable impact
in the lives of many children, youth, and their families across the nation. In 2007, she happily retired. The very
next year, the Arodal Consulting Company was born, through which she enjoyed many trips with families and
friends.

LaDora's many interests included traveling, shopping, gardening, playing slots and
horse racing. She looked forward to watching the annual Kentucky Derby with her
friends each year. She also loved spending time with her family and was rarely with-
out a memory to share, her signature smile, or an old-time hymn.
On Thursday, July 29, 2021, the Lord called LaDora home to rest at the age of 73. Her
life and love will be forever treasured by her brother, Arthur L. Cobb, Jr. (Marquita);
two nieces, Darlene Harris (Dennis) and Christina Kposowa (Musa); three nephews,
Tremayne Cobb (Ann), James Cobb (Michelle) and Timothy Cobb (Ashley); a special
friend, Rodney Jones; and a host of aunts, uncles, great-nieces and nephews, family, and friends.
