Obituary of Willie Beatrice Wimberly
OBITUARY
Willie Beatrice Wimberly was born on March 9, 1931 to the late Jessie Horne and Almetta Jones of Rocky Mount, North Carolina. She departed this life on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at Ebenezer Senior and Wellness Services in Bowie, MD (Mrs. Valentine Parillon, Proprietor). Bea received her primary and secondary education in the public-school system in Rocky Mount, N.C. where she graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. She proudly served in the “public utility” field at PEPCO for 35 plus years. She found her passion singing in the choir and ushering at Bethesda Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. where she served faithfully for many years until her health started to decline. Bea enjoyed traveling to NC visiting her family and friends and going on different trips with the church group at Bethesda. She was a devoted mother to her daughter Deborah, loving wife to her late husband, Paul Wimberly and a caring friend to all those who knew her.
Bea’s daughter, Deborah was a loving and caring daughter to her mother. After the passing of her father, she devoted the past 15-20 years caring for her mother. When Bea’s health deteriorated, Deborah was right there at her bed side at Ebenezer to ensure Bea received the best health care services possible!! Her love, commitment and dedication to her mom was demonstrated by her constant visitation to Bea’s bed side and whenever Bea had to be taken to the hospital; she was always there!
Bea will live on forever in the hearts of so many including two sisters, Jean Allen of Elizabeth City, NC, (Jean would call Bea every Saturday morning to speak with her and to see how Bea was doing), Jessie Griffith of Saugus, Mass. and a host of nieces, nephews and other cherish relatives and close friends. She was an amazing wife, mother, friend and hero to many. While we deeply mourn her great loss, we will also celebrate her wonderful life.
POEM
May you always walk in sunshine and God’s light around you flow,
For the happiness you gave us, no one will ever know.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.
A part of us went with you the day God called you home.
A million times we needed you, a million times we’ve cried.
If love could only have saved you, you never would have died.
The lord be with you and may you rest in peace,
