Loving Memory of Carolyn Elaine Prentis

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carolyn Elaine Prentis, who departed this life peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Inova Hospital in Fairfax, Virginia. Surrounded by the love of her family and friends, Carolyn left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Carolyn was the youngest of three children and was preceded in death by her beloved siblings, Phyllis Anne King and John Archer Prentis Jr., and her parents, John Archer Prentis Sr. and Sarah Agnes Montgomery Prentis.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughter, Stephanie D. Prentis-Washington; four loving grandchildren, Rondell L. Prentis, Michael T. Washington Jr., Myles D. Washington, and McKenzie C. Washington; and one great-grandson, Asriel O. Prentis. Carolyn is also survived by her nephew, Steven W. King (Patricia); niece, Deborah D. King-Walker; and a host of cherished great-nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Carolyn was a selfless, loving, and devoted matriarch whose kindness and warmth touched everyone around her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
