OBITUARY


On Thursday, May 1, Iola Elizabeth (Thomas) Chase, passed away peacefully at home. 


She was born on March 24, 1933, to the late Rhodie and Odie Thomas.  She had one sister, the late Dorothy T. Sutton.  She was preceded in death by her son, Bruce.  She is survived by her children, Paul (Georganna), Veronica, Vernon, Sharon, Sandra (Sherman), and Leonard (Donna), a devoted granddaughter, Laverne, four other grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. 


Iola was a devoted and lifelong member of Second Baptist Church, where she was part of the Friendship Club, Ladies Auxiliary, and Hospitality Committee.  She loved spending time with her family, watching westerns, and rooting for the Redskins/Commanders. 


Visitation with the family will be held at Second Baptist Church, 6626 Costner Drive, Falls Church, VA on Wednesday, May 14 at 10:00 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am followed by interment at the church and a lunch reception.  In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the church.
